Ingredients
Milk - 1 cup
Cocoa Powder - 1 tbsp
Sugar - 2 tsp
Cardamon - 1/4th tsp powder or 1 pod
Cinnamon -1/4th tsp powder or a small stick
Instant Coffee - 1/4th tsp
Rum - 3 tbsp (optional)
Recipe -
This proportion makes 1 glass of hot chocolate, you can always double it or multiply it as you need.
In a saucepan dry roast the cardamon and cinnamon and keep aside. In the same pan add your milk and cocoa powder and stir well on a low flame. Do not keep the milk on high flame as it might burn the cocoa powder.
Once the milk has warmed up add the sugar, coffee with the cardamon and cinnamon and keep mixing well to avoid any lumps.
After the milk boils, turn the flame off the flame and add your favorite rum and stir well. You can omit the alcohol if you prefer. Your warm and comforting hot chocolate is ready to be enjoyed.
Also, I personally do not enjoy any toppings for my hot chocolate, and so, I have kept it plain. But you can add a variety of toppings like marshmallow or some whipped cream and some chocolate shavings if you prefer.
